| Operational Innovation and football
Innovation is a key factor for companies in the Øresund IT region. To be to the top we need to be faster and in the long run more effective than the competition. There are talented people in many locations and technology travel well so we also need other differentiators. In the EURO 2008 football matches, a success factor is how well the players interact. Is interaction and synchronization one of the arenas where we can outsmart the competitors by breaking the common rules for how we operate?

| | | Does ICT contribute to productivity or does it just make things more complicated? Having discussed this for several years, the agreement today is that ICT is a major factor behind high productivity. ICT can indeed help in letting fewer achieve more, but of course the human and organizational development must lead the technical one. Such benefits should also be offered to our public sector, which is challenged by ever more demanding citizens while internally facing large retirements. Within this sector, our member ITEK has pointed out energy, health care, traffic and multimedia as key areas and we like to support that with relevant projects. | Report from Business to Buttons
Around 400 visitors, from all over the world, gathered for a two day conference in how design can generate more and better business. And of course Øresund IT was there, as a partner of the conference which was arranged by the company InUse together with the University of Malmo. During the different lessons and workshops we learned a lot about how design really can make a difference in mobile applications, systems and products.

The Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation offers small and medium size companies discount coupons to of knowledge and research. The discount can be used when companies wish enhance their knowledge. The offer aims to facilitate cooperation between companies on one hand and public research and knowledge institutions on the other.

Microsoft and Sony Ericsson want to add even more talented people to their mobile development teams in the Øresund region. Both have very large development facilities with in total several thousands of engineers, and they want to grow these teams even more. Øresund IT has joined them in creating awareness of the unique opportunities within mobile development.
