Manage Today, Kill Tomorrow
With China producing engineers in a never-ending pace and Silicon Valley getting deeper into mobile and bio-tech, how can the Øresund region stay competitive? For non-production regions like ours, the answer is innovation. But exactly how do you manage innovation?
Innovation is comprised of two things: The desire to create something new to replace the old, and embracing risk. Unfortunately, the more established our organization is, the more difficult it is to innovate, as innovation disrupts current products and processes, and often challenges current investments. The risk is obvious that innovation leads to more misses than hits, and would you risk to ruin a good track record by betting on an idea that turns out to be lousy?
