Øresund in Top for Mobile Solutions
The Øresund region is among the five most prominent regions in Europe when it comes to developing and using services for mobiles and wireless devices.
A recent report, mWatch Europe 2006, has studied the mobile readiness of 21 European cities and regions. The report ranks the Øresund region high on a mobile readiness index, for the most part due to the larger cities in the region.
The presence of international leading businesses such as Sony-Ericsson, Ericsson Mobile Platforms, Nokia, Teleca, TDC and Microsoft are contributing to the top position, so does a highly competent consultancy sector. Leading research and innovation ability are also important success factors.
“Microsoft is committed to mobile solutions and we have located our development center to Copenhagen. The report confirms that world leading competence can be found in the Øresund region,” says Niels Bo Theilgaard, Director at Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen.
