The Øresund Bridge

Recruitment in the Øresund Region

The Øresund Region holds excellent opportunities for cross border recruitment between Denmark and Sweden. However, the Region is divided in two national labor markets, each having its own regulatory system.

In recognizing these differences, Øresund IT has completed a Mobility Guide to help employers navigate through the system.

The Guide gathers information and stories from both employers and employees. Through their experiences you gain practical knowledge that will help you understand what to look out for and what you can do to be successful.

It also identifies many of those who can help. As an example, our authorities have an excellent information service called Øresunddirekt, that supports with taxation and regulatory matters. Head-hunters, recruitment agencies and other service providers have quite a track record and are more and more familiar with specific cross border issues. Many of these are listed at the back of the guide.

The Mobility Guide

"Today it is entirely possible, and becoming more common, to live on one side of the Øresund and work on the other. Commuting statistics show growth of 300% since the opening of the Øresund Bridge in 2000," quoted from the Introduction.
