New horizons

Ericsson the first Sweden-based company at DSE
– More Swedish companies to come!

When DSE took place last week at the Technical University of Denmark Ericsson was the first Sweden based company to participate. Øresund IT is very positive that the company has discovered the value of thinking the entire Øresund Region as one market place.

Among the 136 participating companies and organizations, Ericsson was the only Sweden based company. Ericsson was represented at DSE to meet potential employees among the students and present the company as an attractive place of employment in the Øresund Region.

- We are happy to participate at DSE, as we see the entire Øresund Region as our immediate recruiting environment. It is a part of a long term oriented strategy to present Ericsson as an attractive brand and attract more qualified employees. Participating in a Danish trade fair makes that possible, says Cecilia Bladh, Manager Student Relations & Employer Branding at Ericsson.

Global opportunities

Ericsson being a global company was not only offering job opportunities locally. The Swedish company attracted students to their stand by offering them a database of interesting jobs all around the world.

- It is not a requirement that you speak Swedish to work at Ericsson. We are a global company and our corporate language is English. Taking part in DSE has been very interesting for us both locally and globally, says Brita Ohlin, Human Resource Manager at Ericsson Mobile Platforms in Lund.

More Swedish companies to come

Over the years several Swedish companies located in Denmark have been present at DSE, but Ericsson is the first to recruit to Sweden and abroad.  However, Øresund IT is convinced that many more Swedish companies will be present at DSE in the future. Sony Ericsson was on the waiting list to participate, which shows that Swedish companies are starting to see the potential in attracting employees from both sides of the Sound.

- Companies have started to realize the value of viewing the entire Øresund Region as one market place. We encourage our members to seek for solutions across the Sound. The different national characters are sometimes seen as a problem, but they can be real assets once you know how they work, says Philip Stankovski, Network Manager at Øresund IT.
