Copenhagen Airport makes your mobile
phone come alive
The mobile phone can be used to a lot more than a regular phone call. At least when you are at the airport. Copenhagen airport and the IT University of Copenhagen have launched a new project, which makes it possible to integrate your mobile phone with the airport’s information system, the weather forecast at your travel destination and a pager, if you are about to miss you flight.
The new solution builds on the existing Bluetooth technology in combination with an RFID tag, which makes it possible to track the owner of the mobile phone all over the airport. The solution can have a great impact on the air transportation companies, if the technology becomes a technology every consumer will use.
