iMotions, some members are small or medium-size companies with a high growth rate. Others are well established companies such as Microsoft Development Center, Sony Ericsson, IBM, and IKEA IT. Regional universities and public authorities are also among the list.
“There is an increased interest for activities in the Øresund Region. Businesses, universities and public authorities have recognized that participation in a network across Øresund is an asset that strengthens their competencies and provides many advantages.” says Peter Höjerback, CEO of Øresund IT.
Øresund IT was instituted as a membership organization in March 2005, and has attracted members from the very beginning. Many have realized the advantages of recruiting across the Sound, and of utilizing the whole region with its strong infrastructure.
Opportunities of taking advantage of the knowledge on the other side of Øresund, a larger domestic market and access to universities and businesses are likewise important.
”We believe that the Øresund Region, with its strong infrastructure and a transnational knowledge and culture exchange, has lucrative conditions for IT-businesses. Through Øresund IT we gain easy access to knowledge regarding education, events and conferences in the Region. The membership is also used in connection with recruitment of talents, both in the region and internationally. It is important for us to show that we are a part of the IT-community in the Øresund Region”, remark the two founders of iMotions, Peter Hartzbech and Jakob de Lemos.
iMotions was founded one month prior to Øresund IT, in February 2005. As a member of Øresund IT, iMotions receives, among other things, new business contacts that traditionally take a long time to find. At the same time, the network opens doors to new ideas and projects that are interesting from a cross-disciplinary perspective and which draw from a pool of talent across the Sound.
