Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consist of top management from the business world, universities and public authorities in the Øresund Region.

Niels Bo Theilgaard Niels Bo Theilgaard (chairman), Founder and CEO of NBTI. Born 1952. Holds a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in systems science from the Technical University of Denmark. Niels Bo Theilgaard has been in the IT industry for nearly 25 years, and formerly worked at Bang & Olufsen as its IT Director as well as Division Manager for the Beologic Division. He was one of the founders of the Beologic company in 1995. When the company was sold to Baan in 1997 he became Vice Precident of Baan's CRM division, and from July 1999 he was also CEO for Baan Nordic A/S. In 2000 he joined Navision Software a/s as Executive Vice President for the Navision Product Division. As of 11 July 2002 Navision a/s became part of Microsoft Business Solutions, he stayed as General Manager for the development organization in Copenhagen with 300 people. He is member of the board of 7-Technologies A/S, Synkron A/S, Celenia A/S, and I-motions Technology A/S.
Örjan Johansson (dep. chair) was one of the founders of the Bluetooth SIG, which is the foundation for the Bluetooth de facto standard invented by Ericsson. At Ericsson he also served as General Manager for Bluetooth technology & products. Mr. Johansson also has experience from building and industrial automation. He has been part of management teams in automation companies related to Alfa-Laval, Tetra Pak, ABB and Incentive AB. Today Mr. Johansson is serving as Vice President of Anoto Group AB and as board member of Øresund IT, Teknopol AB and Trivector System AB

Kim Østrup Kim Østrup, Vice president, IBM Denmark A/S, (Born 1945). After graduating in economics with a Bachelor of Politics from the University of Copenhagen he joined IBM Denmark in 1971. Østrup held various positions in marketing including management of marketing training for IBM Nordic (NEC) when he took over Management Development in 1982. Since then Østrup has headed a number of special projects and staff positions and today he is External Programs Executive for Nordic. In addition to IBM, Østrup holds a number of positions in industry including Vice-Chairman of the Danish IT-industry Association, Member of the Board of The Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Board of ITEK, Chairman of the Danish electronic research Library, Member of the board of the IT University in Copenhagen.
Hans Henecke Hans Hennecke, Director of the Department of Economic Development and Innovation at Region Skåne.
Eskil Thuesen Eskil Thuesen, Head of Division, City of Copenhagen Born 1965. 1994 M.Sc. in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. Eskil Thuesen has previously worked for Great Belt A/S, the Ministry of Transport and the Ørestad Development Corporation. 2001 he joined the City of Copenhagen, the Finance Administration, as Head of Division responsible of a.o.t. industrial policy and regional affairs.
 
Björn Wittenmark Björn Wittenmark, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Lunds University. Born in 1943. Wittenmark is a Professor at the Department of Automatic Control at Lund Institute of Technology (LTH), Lund, Sweden. His main research interests are in the fields of adaptive control, digital control and process control. Wittenmark began his career at Lund University after graduating with a Master of Electrical Engineering in 1966. He received his PhD in Automatic Control in 1973 and has continued researching and lecturing in the same field. Head of the Department of Automatic Control, 1987-1994, 2000-2003, Deputy Dean of Lund Institute of Technology 1996-1999. Since 2003, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Lund University
Jan Damsgaard Jan Damsgaard, Professor, Copenhagen Business School. Born in 1966, and completing his Master of Science in Computer Science in 1993, Jan Damsgaard holds a Ph.D and European Doctorate in Information Systems from Aalborg University in Denmark. He is currently a full time professor at Copenhagen Business School since 2003. Jan Damsgaard is a firm believer of interdisciplinary research, and has his main research fields within IT standards and organizational IT infrastructure and network economics. Prior to his current position, he was associate professor at dept. of computer science at Aalborg University. His academic experience is expansive thanks to an elaborative research and he has held a number of positions in universities around the world as visiting professor
Eva Engquist Eva Engquist, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MAH.
Kaj Madsen Kaj Madsen, Technical University of Denmark. Born in 1943. Works at IMM (Informatics and Mathematical Modelling), Technical University of Denmark. Education from the University of Aarhus, Denmark, in mathematics, 1968, where he became a Doctor of Science with the thesis "Minimization of Non-Linear Approximation Functions", 1986. Since 1968 Madsen has been working as Assistant Professor at the Institute for Numerical Analysis, DTU, at the Dept. of Computer Science, Univ. of Copenhagen (DIKU) and at the Institute for Numerical Analysis, DTU. Starting in 1988 he was Professor of Numerical Analysis, DTU. Thereafter he was chairman of the following departments of DTU: 1989-1993: Institute for Numerical Analysis, 1995-2000: Department of Mathematical Modelling, 2001- : Informatics and Mathematical Modelling. Sam K Steffensen Sam K. Steffensen, PhD, Born in 1960, and headhunted from the day he graduated Sam K. Steffensen has achieved a comprehensive background. Holding a Doctoral Degree from Kyushu University in Japan, he has occupied an elaborate number of highly acknowledged positions in the IT Sector. Sam is the Chairman of the board for CPH Design, Damptech and Smart Parts Nordic, as well as a member of the board for several other organizations. In his past he has held positions such as the Chairman of Telecommunications Industry of Denmark, the Director of Orange A/S, and Head of ITV Start-up, Growth and Operations, 5te, Business Development Director, Symbion A/S to mention a few. He has also occupied the position of Chief Researcher at ISICS Research Center at Tokyo University.
